I don't normally provide reviews, but for this product, I felt compelled to write one because I really enjoy my Apsuboard V5. First of all, I find that the V5 had plenty of power, especially for tackling the hills around my neighborhood. It certainly has a lot of torque. With the trucks adjusted to my liking, I have no problem carving the road or sidewalk. I've also ridden the board on compacted dirt trails with no problem. The deck has some flex, which cushions some of the bumps on the road and trail.
Secondly, the V5 has good range and top speed, especially for the price. People turn heads as I zip past them.
Thirdly, the design is simple and unassuming, which is the way I like it. Just add a couple of stickers to the underside of the plain deck and you'll have a personalized looking board.
My only criticism is that I think the braking could be a little stronger. I have it set at the highest setting and I find the braking softer than my daughter's board. But, the braking is still adequate for any rider. Also, the handle is not properly placed where the board is balanced while carrying. I would prefer Apsuboard to provide an option of not having the handle or simply not providing one.
I know that the shipping time is horrendous and the lack of reliable shipment tracking information could be a little disconcerting. But, it is still worth having the board shipped by boat to save on money and duties. You just have to be patient because it is well worth the wait.
I hope Apsuboard pushes Cloudwheel to make their Donut Cloudwheels for Apsuboard's hub drive motors because that would make the V5 board awesome.
For the price and the specs you get for the V5, you can't beat it. Thank you Apsuboard for making an affordable, well-built product. I would certainly consider purchasing other boards from them in the future.
